Fired फायर (2010) — Hindi Horror

In the 2010 Indian horror-thriller "Fired," directed by Sajit Warrier, CEO Joy Mittal (Rahul Bose) faces supernatural repercussions after dismissing 121 employees from his London-based company. The film delves into the psychological and supernatural consequences of corporate decisions, blending elements of horror and psychological thriller genres. The narrative unfolds in real-time, depicting the final two hours of Joy's workday following the mass layoffs. As he remains alone in the office, he begins to experience unsettling visions and apparitions, including encounters with his former lover and her child. These manifestations blur the lines between reality and hallucination, intensified by Joy's reliance on anti-depressant medication. The film explores themes of guilt, isolation, and the haunting effects of corporate decisions, creating a tense and eerie atmosphere. "Fired" premiered at the Cannes Marché du Film in May 2010, marking director Sajit Warrier's feature film debut. Despite its international debut, the film faced challenges in India due to its mature content, leading to an A rating from the Indian Censor Board and preventing its theatrical release. The film received mixed reviews, with some critics praising the performances, particularly that of Rahul Bose, while others found the narrative lacking in originality. "Fired" offers a unique exploration of corporate ethics and the supernatural, appealing to viewers interested in psychological horror and the consequences of corporate decisions.
