Ruslaan रुसलान (2024) — Hindi Action

In the 2024 Indian action thriller *Ruslaan*, directed by Karan Lalit Butani, Aayush Sharma portrays the titular character, a young man determined to prove his loyalty to India despite his father's terrorist past. Adopted by ATS officer Sameer Singh, played by Jagapathi Babu, Ruslaan's journey leads him to join the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's premier intelligence agency. His quest to clear his name and serve his country propels him into complex and perilous situations. The film delves into themes of identity, redemption, and patriotism, exploring Ruslaan's struggle to overcome the stigma of his heritage. His impulsive nature often results in actions that complicate his mission, highlighting the tension between personal desires and national duty. Critics have noted the film's reliance on formulaic action sequences and a lack of coherent plot development, with some reviews describing it as a "formulaic actioner that is entertaining in parts if you prefer adrenaline over intricate plots." Released on April 26, 2024, *Ruslaan* received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. The film's emphasis on action over narrative depth may appeal to viewers seeking high-octane sequences, but those interested in a more nuanced storyline might find it lacking. Despite its shortcomings, *Ruslaan* contributes to the genre of action thrillers in Indian cinema, reflecting the industry's ongoing experimentation with themes of national security and personal redemption.
