The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan দ্য একেন: রুদ্ধশ্বাস রাজস্থান (2023) — Bangla Adventure

In "The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan," detective Ekendra Sen, known as Eken Babu, embarks on a vacation to Rajasthan with his companions Bapi and Promotho. Their trip takes an unexpected turn when they meet Professor Shatadru Ghosh, an Oxford archaeologist, who suspects that a Natesa idol he saw in London has been stolen. This revelation sets Eken Babu on a quest to uncover a smuggling operation involving priceless artifacts. Directed by Joydip Mukherjee, this 2023 Bengali-language film blends adventure, mystery, thriller, and comedy elements. The narrative delves into themes of cultural heritage, deception, and the lengths individuals will go to protect or exploit history. The film's tone is a mix of suspense and lighthearted moments, characteristic of the Eken Babu series. Anirban Chakrabarti reprises his role as Eken Babu, supported by Somak Ghosh as Promotho and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Bapi. Upon its release in April 2023, "The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan" received a mixed reception. While some viewers appreciated the film's nostalgic nods to Satyajit Ray's "Sonar Kella," others felt the plot lacked depth and the humor was forced. The film grossed approximately ₹3.50 crore, indicating a positive response at the box office. As the second installment in the Eken Babu franchise, it continues to explore the detective's adventures, appealing to fans of Bengali cinema and mystery genres.
