Thug Life தக் லைஃப் (2025) — Tamil Action — Hindi Dubbed

In the bustling streets of Old Delhi in 1994, gang leader Rangaraaya Sakthivel (Kamal Haasan) seeks a truce with rival Sadanand Yadav (Mahesh Manjrekar). However, Sadanand betrays the agreement, leading to a violent shootout that results in the death of an innocent newspaper deliveryman. Sakthivel, believing the man's son, Amaran (Silambarasan TR), shielded him during the chaos, adopts Amaran and raises him as his own, vowing to reunite him with his sister, Chandra (Aishwarya Lekshmi). The film, "Thug Life," directed by Mani Ratnam, delves into the complexities of loyalty, betrayal, and the blurred lines between family and crime. As Amaran grows under Sakthivel's tutelage, he becomes deeply integrated into the criminal underworld. The narrative intensifies when Amaran avenges the suicide of Sakthivel's daughter, Shanthi, by killing Sadanand's nephew, Ranvijay. This act leads to Sakthivel's imprisonment, with Amaran assuming control of the empire. The plot thickens when Sadanand proposes a political alliance, but a subsequent assassination attempt on Sakthivel raises suspicions about Amaran's loyalty. The film's tone is taut and suspenseful, exploring themes of identity, family, and the quest for revenge. "Thug Life," released in 2025, reunites director Mani Ratnam with actor Kamal Haasan after their acclaimed collaboration in "Nayakan." Set against the backdrop of India's criminal underworld, the film has received mixed reviews. Critics have praised the performances of Haasan and Silambarasan, as well as the cinematography, but have criticized the predictability of the storyline. The film's exploration of gangster dynamics and familial bonds resonates with audiences familiar with Ratnam's previous works, though it has been noted as inferior to their earlier collaboration.
