Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 3/5, stating, "On the whole, Zanjeer is a triumph for Ram Charan, who gets abundant opportunity to exhibit his talent and scores exceedingly well." Meena Iyer of The Times of India also gave it 3/5, noting, "Ram Charan, as the brooding policeman, excels in action." However, Karan Anshuman of the Mumbai Mirror criticized the film, giving it 1.5 stars and suggesting that the original creators might want to disassociate from this remake.
